Well, hello there, my dear! Today, we’re diving into the wonderful world of single crochet—a stitch so simple yet is the bread and butter for many wonderful projects. Whether you’re just starting your crochet journey or brushing up on the basics, Granny Stitch is here to guide you. So, grab your hook and yarn, and let’s make some crochet magic together, one stitch at a time! 🧶✨

What You’ll Need:
Yarn of your choice
A crochet hook appropriate for the weight of the yarn you've chosen (just check the label around the skein!)
Instructions:
Make a Foundation Chain: Start with a slip knot on your hook and create a chain. For practice, chain 10.
Insert Your Hook: Skip the first chain (closest to your hook). Insert your hook into the second chain from the hook.
The foundation chain Yarn Over (YO): Wrap your yarn over the hook, bringing the yarn from back to front.
Yarn over and pull through Pull Through: Pull the yarn through the chain. You should now have two loops on your hook.
Yarn Over Again: Wrap the yarn over your hook once more.
Yarn over and pull through both loops Complete the Stitch: Pull the yarn through both loops on your hook. Congratulations! You’ve made your first single crochet stitch.
A single crochet is made Repeat Across the Row: Continue steps 2-6 across the row, inserting your hook into the next chain each time.

Turning Your Work:
At the end of the row, chain one, turn your work, and start single crocheting into the stitches of the previous row.
Granny’s Tips:
Consistency is Key: Keep your tension even—don’t pull too tight or leave loops too loose. See Dancing with the Yarn: A Quick Guide to Hold and Tension.
Counting Saves Time: Count your stitches at the end of each row to avoid accidental increases or decreases.
Practice Makes Perfect: Don’t fret if your stitches look wonky at first. Each stitch is a step closer to mastery!
